Statement of Faith

Rooted in Scripture. Centered on Jesus Christ. Empowered by the Holy Spirit.

At Valor University, faith is the foundation of our pursuit of truth, our commitment to character, and our calling to serve. These biblical convictions shape how we learn, lead, worship, and live.

The Holy Scriptures

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the final authority for faith and life. Through Scripture, God reveals His character, His saving purpose, and the truth that guides our learning and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21)

The One True God

We believe in one eternal, infinite, and holy God, the Creator of all things. He has revealed Himself as Father in creation, in His Son Jesus Christ for our redemption, and as the Holy Spirit dwelling in and empowering believers. In Jesus Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 9:6; Colossians 2:9)

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh, fully God and fully human. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, He lived without sin, died for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, and ascended into heaven. He alone is our Savior and the mediator between God and humanity. (John 1:1, 14; 1 Timothy 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; 1 Timothy 2:5)

Salvation and New Birth

We believe all people need the saving grace of God. Salvation is made possible through Jesus Christ, not earned by human works. We respond to the gospel through faith in Him, repentance from sin, water baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 2:8–9; John 3:5; Acts 2:38; Acts 4:12)

The Holy Spirit

We believe the promise of the Holy Spirit is for believers today. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is initially evidenced by speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. The Spirit empowers us to witness, produces godly fruit, and gives spiritual gifts for the strengthening of the Church. (Acts 1:8; Acts 2:1–4, 39; Acts 10:44–46; Galatians 5:22–23; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11)

A Life of Holiness

We believe God calls His people to holiness in heart and conduct. By His grace and the power of His Spirit, we seek lives marked by prayer, purity, humility, honesty, and love. Our words, choices, and relationships should reflect the character of Jesus Christ. (Romans 12:1–2; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:14; 1 Peter 1:15–16)

The Church and Its Mission

We believe the Church is the body of Christ, called to worship God, proclaim the gospel, make disciples, and serve others with compassion. We affirm the importance of fellowship, biblical teaching, prayer, and the gifts of the Spirit. We believe God still heals and works miraculously according to His will. (Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 2:42; 1 Corinthians 12:27; James 5:14–16)

Our Blessed Hope

We believe Jesus Christ will return, the dead will be raised, and every person will stand before God in judgment. We look forward to eternal life with Him and live in readiness, faithfulness, and hope. (John 14:1–3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18; Revelation 20:11–15; Revelation 21:1–4)

Faith and Learning

We believe the pursuit of knowledge should deepen our love for God and equip us to serve our neighbors. At Valor University, we seek to unite academic excellence with biblical conviction, cultivating leaders who think carefully, act with integrity, and use their gifts for the glory of God and the good of others. (Matthew 22:37–39; Colossians 3:17, 23)
